چکیده

AIM: To determine the incidence and predictive factors for epiretinal membrane (ERM) formation in eyes with complicated primary rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) tamponaded silicone oil (SO). METHODS: This retrospective case-control study included 141 consecutive patients (51 eyes) without (90 ERM after pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) SO tamponade RRD. The risk were assessed using logistic regression analysis. RESULTS: prevalence of postoperative was 36.2% (51/141). Multivariate analysis showed that SO-tamponaded preoperative proliferative vitreoretinopathy [PVR; odds ratio (OR), 2.578; 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.580–4.205, P<0.001], choroidal (OR, 4.454; 95%CI 1.369–14.498, P=0.013), photocoagulation energy 2.700; 1.047–6.962, P=0.040). duration symptoms, intraocular time, giant tear, vitreous hemorrhage, best-corrected visual acuity, number breaks, quadrants RRD, axial length, points not formation. CONCLUSION: Preoperative PVR, detachment, are RRD repair. Better ophthalmic care as well patient education necessary such factors.

Incidence and Factors Influencing Retinal Displacement in Eyes Treated for Rhegmatogenous Retinal Detachment With Vitrectomy and Gas or Silicone Oil.

Purpose The purpose of this study was to study the incidence and factors influencing retinal displacement in eyes treated for rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) with pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) and gas or silicone oil. Methods This was a prospective observational case series. One hundred twenty-five eyes with macula-off RRD from 125 patients underwent 25-gauge PPV at two vitreoretinal in...

23-gauge vitrectomy and silicone oil tamponade with and without phacoemulsification in rhegmatogenous retinal detachment.

The aim of this study is to assess clinical outcomes of 23-gauge vitrectomy and silicone oil (SO) tamponade combined with and without phacoemulsification (PE) in rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD). The study included forty eyes of 40 patients that underwent 23-gauge vitrectomy and SO tamponade combined with and without PE. Twenty eyes of 20 cases, of whom underwent 23-gauge vitrectomy and ...

Sutureless 23-gauge versus 20-gauge vitrectomy with silicone oil injection in rhegmatogenous retinal detachment.

PURPOSE To report the efficacy of 23-gauge (G) pars plana vitrectomy with silicone oil injection in rhegmatogenous retinal detachment. METHODS Retrospective chart review of consecutive patients with retinal detachment who underwent pars plana vitrectomy by one of two surgeons using distinct and consistent methods. All patients undergoing 23-G pars plana vitrectomy did not have scleral bucklin...

Change in refraction after lens-sparing vitrectomy for rhegmatogenous retinal detachment and epiretinal membrane

The aim of this study was to compare changes in refraction following lens-sparing vitrectomy between patients with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) and epiretinal membrane (ERM) and to investigate factors associated with the change in refraction. We reviewed medical records of 49 eyes of 49 patients with RRD (53.6 ± 7.8 years, mean ± standard deviation) and 24 eyes of 24 patients with ERM...
